so, school here always starts the tuesday after labour day (or LABOR DAY if that's how you want to spell it, but frankly i want U at my labor day party, lol).
but if school starts for you a few weeks before labour day then what do you do with labour day? is it not even a holiday for you? is it just a long weekend? is it weird going back to school without a nice long weekend to send you off? is it just like some random monday in summer and everyone is all, "okay, time to go back to school, kids!"?

School for us started last week. Labor day is just another day for us. So we just had a long weekend and he goes back tomorrow.

My girls went back to school on the 20th of August. Since today is Labor Day, the girls didn't have school so they had a 3 day weekend. It's actually nice because they start school and then, when they are starting to get tired of it, they get a nice 3 day weekend.

some schools do have school on Labor Day. Texas A&M does, always has as far as I can recall. my kids didn't have school today, and I don't think any local schools did. around here, it's generally just considered that last fun weekend before fall.

My kids have been in school since August 6th, so for US, it's just another day. It's a "federal" holiday though, which means that their is no mail so Jeffrey is off, and all banks are closed and some "mom and pop" shops are closed as well.

Our kids have been in school a bit now and it's just a three day weekend for us.

Labor Day to me ranks with Veterans Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day....a good excuse for a long weekend. Our schools don't open until after Labor Day. My son starts high school tomorrow.
